Stuck in a maintenance mode you can’t get out of.

You were installing/updating a plugin and got this message.

Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute.

You tried to stay calm, thinking it was just a small hiccup. You pressed Ctrl + F5, hoping it would fix things. But, to your dismay, the website still wouldn’t work.

You start to feel frustrated. This wasn’t how it was supposed to go. If you had just waited till the update to finish. It shouldn’t be taking this long. Doubts crept in, mixed with impatience.

Then, it hit you. You were stuck. Trapped in a digital WordPress limbo, not knowing what to do next.

How to Solve the Maintenance Issue in 3 Easy Steps

  1. Log into Cpanel and go to the File Manager.
  2. Click on Settings, and enable “Show Hidden Files”. See below ↓

3. Find and delete the ” .maintenance ” file.

That’s it. The issue should be fixed now!
